A Decision Made Before Pressure
Daniel 1–3
“But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself.”
Daniel 1:8 KJV
TODAY’S DEVOTION
Daniel’s faithfulness in Babylon began with a settled purpose in his heart. He did not wait for the pressure to arrive before deciding whom he belonged to. His conviction was firm, yet his manner remained respectful and wise.
Holiness is not hostility toward people; it is a life set apart to God. A Christian can serve well, speak graciously, and still refuse what would compromise obedience. Ask the Holy Ghost to form conviction before the next difficult moment. Quiet decisions made at the altar often become courage when the furnace is hot.
